That Would Be

by Paulamia Pass

Me voicing my opinion?
No that would be me ranting.
Me showing passion?
No that would be me angry.
Me having a family?
No that would be me on Welfare.
Me having confidence?
No I’m sorry you must be mistaken that would be me being sassy.
Me speaking eloquently?
No that would be me “talking white”.
Me going for a night run?
No that’s obviously me running from a crime.
Me being curious?
Nope that would be me being nosy.
Me writing this?
Again, that would be me being angry.
Oh, and me reaching my breaking point?
No that would be me showing my true colors.
The way I’ve always must have been.
Because me having normal human emotions?
No that would be obscene.
